Rwanda - Greengo

Created in 2004, the Dukunde Kawa cooperative brings together nearly 1,100 farmers. Anxious to diversify the income of its farmers, it encourages local crafts and offers low-rate loans to its members, in addition each farmer receives a cow.
The cooperative also works on water conservation and encourages the planting of shade trees, and strives for better waste management.

bourbon is a natural mutation of the typica variety, which was produced on Reunion Island (then called Ile de Bourbon) when it was introduced by the French.
